It is customary to place an announcement in a local or national newspaper. This serves two important purposes:
If you would like to place an obituary or acknowledgement, we can assist with the wording and arrange the notice on your behalf.
Alternatively, we offer a free online obituary service through our Facebook Obituary page, which you can view and share here.
We provide a wide selection of thoughtfully designed service sheets, and we can also create a completely bespoke order of service for you. In addition, we offer beautifully produced books of remembrance and large printed photographs to help honour your loved one. To support families in keeping a record of those who attended, we also supply personalised attendance cards.
Music often becomes one of the most personal elements of a service, helping to express the character of your loved one in a way words sometimes cannot. A favourite song or meaningful piece can reflect their personality, their tastes, and the moments that mattered most to them. Choosing something significant can also offer comfort, creating a sense of connection and warmth during the service.
We are always happy to help source specific pieces of music, whether traditional, contemporary, or something more unusual. If a crematorium or church is unable to play a chosen track due to technical limitations, we can provide our own professional music system to ensure your selection is still included exactly as intended.
Floral tributes often become one of the most expressive elements of a funeral, offering a visual way to honour a loved one’s life, personality, and relationships. Our on‑site florist is available to guide you through a wide variety of styles — from traditional sprays and wreaths to bespoke arrangements and seasonal flowers — ensuring the design reflects your personal preferences and the tone of the service. They can advise on colour palettes, flower meanings, and arrangement sizes to help you choose something both beautiful and meaningful.
If you are using an alternative florist, it is important that they have the date, time, and location of the service. This ensures all floral arrangements are delivered in good time, allowing them to be placed appropriately before the funeral procession begins and ensuring everything is presented exactly as intended.
If you have any special requirements, provided they do not compromise the dignity of the person who has died or the nature of the occasion, we will do our utmost to accommodate them. Please don’t hesitate to enquire.
Previous requests include:
All necessary staff will be provided as part of our service to you in the days leading up to the funeral. On the day itself, we will ensure that sufficient bearers and attendants are present to support either a cremation or burial, depending on your wishes.
If family members would like to have the honour of bearing the coffin, this can certainly be arranged. Your funeral director will discuss this option with you to ensure everyone involved feels prepared and supported.
We can recommend various local venues experienced in providing funeral refreshments.
Outside catering can also be arranged for a funeral buffet at your own home, church or village hall.
