R. E.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you again for the complete and sensitively conducted funeral of my wife, Mrs Ruth Evans, presided over by Peter Jones, to whom I extend my personal thanks.

I can envisage no sadder moment in life, than the death of one who has been a constant and well loved wife throughout; yet a single error in the subsequent funeral can amplify such saddness to an ever-whelming degree, as i have witnessed at other funerals.

No such errors occured under your own ministrations, and i felt complete satisfaction throughout. In fact, I will say that your ministrations were flawless at all levels, and that my wife, Ruth, would also have been pleased at the way her funeral was conducted.

Eight years earlier, you also ministered to the funeral ministered to the funeral of my much loved mother-in-law, Ethel Rendall, with that same flawless attention to detail; unmarred by any over-attention or smarminess.

I shall continue to recommend your services, and to hope that your family conducted business with it's deeply personal sympathetic touch remains independant of these huge "factory" funeral services which are becoming so common today.

Yours Sincerely,

R. E.

When Death Occurs...

At home

Contact your local GP who will come to certify the death. If he/she is satisfied that the Coroner need not be informed he/she will either give you the medical certificate of cause of death there and then or advise you where you can collect it. you need the certificate to register the death.

In Hospital or a Nursing/Residential Home

Contact the staff at the Hospital/Home and they should be able to advise you as to the availability of the medical certificate of cause of death and from where it can be obtained.

Registering a Death.

When you have obtained the medical certificate of cause of death you need to make an appointment at your local registry office of Births, Marriages and Deaths. If the death has been referred to the Coroner, the procedure is slightly different. We will advise you concerning this.
